RESOLUTION # 19-02 – Selling adjacent surplus property to Roger Greene

RESOLUTION # 19-02

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN OF WHITE SPRINGS DECLARING PARCEL NUMBER 8380-000 AS SURPLUS PROPERTY; AUTHORIZING THE SALE TO THE ADJACENT PROPERTY OWNER; PROVIDING AUTHORITY TO CLOSE THE TRANSACTION; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 

WHEREAS, The Town of White Springs should act in good faith and in the best interest of the public when disposing of surplus property; and

WHEREAS, the Town of White Springs owns Parcel #8380-000 and has no use for it; and

WHEREAS,the adjacent property owner, Roger Greene, wishes to purchase Parcel #8380-000; and

WHEREAS, the sale of Town property to the private sector will increase ad valorem revenue for the Town; and

WHEREAS, the property is zoned RSF-1 Residential Single Family and does not meet minimum lot size requirements for building; and

WHEREAS, the parcel should be combined with an adjacent parcel; and

WHEREAS, the proposed purchase is at market value

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF WHITE SPRINGS

SECTION 1    The Town Council does hereby declare Parcel # 8380-000 surplus

SECTION 2.   The Town Council agrees to sell the property to the adjacent property owner for $3,085

SECTION 3    The Town Manager, along with the Mayor and Town Attorney, are authorized to take such steps and to execute all documents as may be necessary to close the sale.

SECTION 4    This resolution shall be come effective immediately upon its adoption.

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 12th Day of February 2019 in regular session by Town Council of the Town of White Springs.
