BEVERLY BRAZIL’S TESTIMONY

Beverly L. Brazil’s Complaint

On May 15, 2020 at approximately 1:30 pm, I entered the Town Hall of White Springs Florida located at 10363 Bridge Street, White Springs, Florida to begin work. At approximately 1:30 pm, Mr. Joe Griffin entered the Town Hall with a stack of papers in hand.

JOE GRIFFIN’S STATEMENT:
Agreed as to everything except I don’t know when Mrs. Brazil showed up at work.

Beverly L. Brazil’s Complaint
Mr. Griffin was met at the front counter by Ms. Williams, a volunteer for the Town. Ms. Williams requested that the interim Town Manager, Mr. Jones, come to the counter as Mr. Griffin wanted to see him.

JOE GRIFFIN’S STATEMENT:
Agreed

Beverly L. Brazil’s Complaint
Mr. Griffin and Mr. Jones began discussing the paperwork that Mr. Griffin had with him. I was entering my office when I heard a loud bang on the plexiglass at the front counter. I looked out the window of my office, which faces the front counter, to observe Mr. Griffin shaking and visibly upset.

JOE GRIFFIN’S STATEMENT:
As stated previously in Mr. Jones statement I have Palsy, and yes I was upset for failure, the continuing failure, of the Town to give me the documents I have been requesting for six months. Notice please that Mrs. Brazil did not see me hit the plexiglass because it never happened.

Beverly L. Brazil’s Complaint
Mr. Jones was asking Mr. Griffin if he, Mr. Griffin was threatening him, Mr. Jones.

JOE GRIFFIN’S STATEMENT:
I never threatened Mr. Jones. And no testimony alleges that I did.

Beverly L. Brazil’s Complaint
I exited my office to the front counter to try and de-escalate the situation. Mr. Griffin became louder stating that the paperwork that he, Mr. Griffin, had previously obtained from the Town was incorrect and that he, Mr. Griffin, had proof. I asked for him to give me a copy of what he, Mr. Griffin, had so I could better help him, Mr. Griffin.

JOE GRIFFIN’S STATEMENT:
Agreed that the paperwork I had received priory was incorrect, it wasn’t what I asked for in the six months I have been asking. Mrs. Brazil knows what I am asking for and refuses to turn it over. For what must be the 15th time, what I am looking for is the check/ bank withdrawal form written approximately 22-27 October 2019 that had Mr. Jones pay stub, including FICA taxes, taken out of it. Why they won’t turn it over is a mystery to me. Even if the check was direct deposited, which never happened, there would still be a bank withdrawal form to lower the balance in the town’s check book. Mrs. Brazil has tried to “help me” multiple times in the past and yet my requested document has failed to be produced.

Beverly L. Brazil’s Complaint
Mr. Griffin stated that he, Mr. Griffin, would not give me anything and that I needed give him, Mr. Griffin, he, what he asked for or he would call the Sheriff.

JOE GRIFFIN’S STATEMENT:
Agreed except that I asked for the Sheriff to be called.

Beverly L. Brazil’s Complaint
Mr. Jones tried to speak with Mr. Griffin, who just kept telling Mr. Jones to “go lay down by your bowl.”.

JOE GRIFFIN’S STATEMENT:
Agreed. except it was not bowl, but a dish.

Beverly L. Brazil’s Complaint
Mr. Griffin again stated that he was going to get the Sheriff involved if Mr. Jones and I did not provide him, Mr. Griffin, with the items he requested.

JOE GRIFFIN’S STATEMENT:
Agreed except I had asked for the Town to call the Sheriff.

Beverly L. Brazil’s Complaint

Mr. Jones requested that I call Chief Rodriquenz to come to Town Hall. I placed a call to the Chief who asked for me to call 911 to report the disturbance at Town Hall.

JOE GRIFFIN’S STATEMENT
:
Unknown as I had already exited Town Hall when I thought the Sheriff’s Deputy was coming
Once Mr. Griffin heard the police were on their way, Mr. Griffin then stated, “good, I’ll wait for them outside” and exited Town Hall.

JOE GRIFFIN’S STATEMENT:
Agreed.
