No, you are only required to pass the Florida Principles and Practice examination one time.  However, you must maintain a current, active license; keep your continuing education current; and have been continuously employed in one licensure category

In order to remain certified, a Code Enforcement Officer must pay the F.A.C.E. Annual fee of $35.00 for active members and $25.00 for associate members  and attend 16 hours of continuing education classes during every two year period after their certification.

Any certification class (Fundamentals, Administrative Aspects, Legal Issues, or Officer Safety & Field Applications) which is not a repeat of a class already taken, counts for continuing education hours. Hours may also be earned at the annual F.A.C.E. Training Conference and there are also many stand-alone courses that have been approved by the Certification Committee for continuing education hours. ***Effective January 1, 2016 no person may attend F.A.C.E. training courses or take an exam if approved payment hasn’t been made prior to the start of the class or exam.***

THAT’S IT. ANDREW MUST TAKE A TWO DAY CLASS TO BECOME RECERTIFIED TO BE A CODE INSPECTOR. STACY MADE IT SOUND LIKE A WHOLE COURSE MUST BE TAKEN. HE CAN TAKE IT NEXT TIME HE TAKES HIS BRIDE TO TAMPA.

IF HE DOESN’T WANT TO BE THE CODE INSPECTOR I SAY GET HARRY DAVIS, JASPER, IN HERE TO DO THE WATER/WASTEWATER JOB UNTIL SOMEONE WITH THE RIGHT “TICKETS” CAN BE HIRED. IF ANDREW DOESN’T WANT TO BE THE TOWN’S CODE INSPECTION FIRE THE BUM. HELL, I’LL BE THE CODE INSPECTOR IF THE TOWN IS SERIOUS ABOUT CODE ENFORCEMENT AND ANDREW IS GONE. SEEMS FAIR TO ME. GIVE ME A YEAR UNDER HARRY DAVIS AND I CAN BE THE WATER/WASTEWATER GUY MYSELF. I’VE ALREADY PASSED THE EXAMS, ALL I NEED IS THE PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE.
