“If [Donald Trump] wins, he won’t have to worry about immigration, we’ll all go back!” comedian George Lopez promised during the 2016 presidential campaign. Of course, Lopez is still here, enjoying the high quality of living that comes with residing in America.
In fact, the former Lopez Tonight host recently had the chance to practice his freedom of expression on the Hollywood Walk of Fame when he pretended to urinate on Trump’s star while cameras recorded his juvenile prank. In turn, the offensive stunt prompted a flood of calls to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) demanding Lopez’s arrest.
Putting the “P” in protest
Clutching a water bottle to his crotch and slowly letting the liquid trickle out in a steady stream to splatter onto the plaque at his feet, onlookers can’t help but observe how low the stand-up comedian has fallen since the end of his five-year family sitcom. Nowadays, it seems that Lopez is only mentioned in headlines for insulting his fans or saying something objectionably racist or offensive.
Giving the bottle one final shake for effect, Lopez left Trump’s star behind and walked off to stir up controversy in other coarse and unimaginative ways. “All right, let’s go,” he told his entourage as they left a slipping hazard in their wake.
Lopez’s crude jab at Trump didn’t go unnoticed. Citing law enforcement sources, TMZ reported that the LAPD received over 50 outraged calls and emails demanding Lopez’s arrest. But while the act may have been “sick, deplorable, offensive and disrespectful,” police said it was just a prank.
