The definition of insanity is ‘doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.’ “We’re going forward looking through the rear view mirror.”

The Town’s business model is as follows: Raise rates and spend money.  That has been the business model. It won’t work. What is wanted and needed is to have more accountability out of the staff and to cut spending to eliminate the Sewer Rate Increase. We also need to be rid of officials including our Town Manager who continually incurs and spends money for legal defense.

The Staff, like the majority of the Council, is ignorant, literally, of basic business practices and growth enhancing accounting. You can’t spend money you don’t have yet the Power of Three had no problem doing  so as long as it benefited them. No one takes accountability and transparency seriously except perhaps Helen Miller and Walter McKenzie..

We should re-examine the budget for October  with an eye to cutting ANY costs we can. We should also be innovative and possibly follow the law relating to LDR’s and ordinances and determine whether we can get out of the near bankrupt hole Rhett and Stacy put us in.  This is especially true for Sacred Cows SUCH AS ANDREW and  PAM which all together would mean a $65,000 to $80,000 savings depending on the cuts and adjustments made. The budget serves no one or very very few people, (the elite isn’t that a surprise), that needs to be examined in light of a new business model.  Only certain people reap the benefits while others receive no benefit whatsoever.

Why it is the accountability by the Council, the Department Heads and the Cutting Spending model? Perhaps a Profit Center Business Model should be tried.  But it would take a good Finance Director and Town Manager to watch over the budget which is something we do not have now.  This cannot happen with the current people such as Pam Tomlinson and Andrew Greene because they are not efficient, expedient or even have the education to handle what they are currently doing which could be done in half the time….especially Andrew’s job.  And our Town Manager must go because she doesn’t care about the citizens of White Springs, only what can be done for her.
