More Help Needed to Pass Florida Anti-Sanctuary Legislation
This is a special message to NumbersUSA members in Florida.
Dear Florida activist,
SB 168 — a bill that would prohibit illegal-alien sanctuary practices in Florida and ensure that criminal aliens are not released into local communities — is in the final stages before passage but needs your help in clearing the last hurdles. It will should clear the House today. The Senate is still a problem because the vote will be close and Democrats are using delaying tactics. One Republican, Sen Flores, is still opposing the bill and the votes of three others are in question – Senators Diaz, Simmons and Lee.
Please call and email the House Speaker and Senate President and ask them to push the bill through. Then call your State Senator and ask him/her to vote YES on SB 168. Finally call and email Governor DeSantis to ask him to work on shaky Senators Diaz, Simmons and Lee.
Talking points are included below. Thank you in advance for your assistance!

Then use the talking points below. If you are a constituent of shaky Senators Diaz, Simmons or Lee, tell them they really need to come through on the final vote.
“I am a constituent in your district who wants you to vote YES on SB 168. It ensures that localities do not return criminal aliens onto Florida’s streets to prey on the community. They should be removed from the country so they do not endanger citizens and the officers who encounter them.”
Additional Points for Email Form
Do not listen to the bill’s loud opponents who turn a blind eye to the public safety threats posed by sanctuary policies. They do not speak for voters like me. Please pass SB 168.
Contacting the Governor
Please call and email Governor Ron DeSantis (850-717-9337; Ron.DeSantis@myflorida.com) with the message:
“I am a voter who appreciates your support for anti-sanctuary legislation. Final passage is still questionable so please tell the fence-sitting Senators to support SB 168. Senators Diaz, Simmons and Lee need to hear from you.”
