Although the Town of White Springs no longer sponsors programs for our Children, Park Manager Manny Perez and Ranger Kim Rivers met with Project HOPE, Inc. volunteers Helen Miller and Tom Moore last Friday to discuss the partnership which will deliver the STEM summer camp. The Additional partners include the Hamilton County School District Food Services department which will deliver free breakfasts and lunches for all participants. UF/IFAS area businesses and local donors are also partnering with STEM.
Parents are invited to pick up an application from the Ranger Station and return the completed application to the Project HOPE volunteers at the Knowledge Share Event on April 27, 2019 at 9:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Tourism Center.
STEM in the Park will operate Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 4:00 pm with early drop offs and 5:30 pm pick ups for working parents. The STEM summer camp is made available through Project HOPE, Inc. fundraising.

Helen Miller and her husband Ed Miller have worked with Mr. Tennis to provide the people of White Springs Free firewood, throughout the winter. In fact Hamilton County Coordinator Louie Goodin provided them with his own Wood Splitter since the Town took away the splitter from the people.
In the interim Helen Miller has been working diligently, including much travel, to start up a 501 (3) c program, so that your Children may have a summer camp program at Stephen Foster State Park. Her volunteers have worked with your children before and are part of the STEM organization. As you will note, Tom Moore again has volunteered to assist the community with the STEM program as well as our hopeful “write-in” candidate Anita Rivers.
Please donate whatever you can and I know Miller and the Volunteers are working diligently to secure funds in order to provide a wonderful experience for your children.
