No annual leave provided if you are terminated but No unemployment if you resign

PAYMENT OF ANNUAL LEAVE UPON SEPARATION:

Employees who voluntarily separate from the Town through resignation or retirement will be paid for all accrued Annual Leave up to 240 hours.  Employees of less than one year, who separate for any reason, shall not be paid for any accrued leave.  Any employee who is terminated for cause shall not be paid for accrued annual leave time.

PAYMENT OF SICK LEAVE UPON SEPARATION FROM THE TOWN

Employees who separate from the Town shall be paid for all accrued sick leave up to 240 hours.  No payment will be made on sick leave accrued above 240 hours.  Existing employees who have accrued in excess of 240 hours of sick leave at the date of the adoption of this policy, shall negotiate with the Town on a case by case basis to reach an agreement considering possible buy-out of excess sick leave or other resolution as deemed appropriate by both parties and in the best interest of the Town of White Springs.

There you have it.  An employee will not be paid for Vacation Leave not used if terminated for cause.  And if the Employee Resigns, they are not able to file for unemployment.  It is something the employee has to weigh
