Two letters of Resignation – Can we please get a Third

August 2, 2013
Mr. Robert Farley
Town Manager
Town of White Springs
Dear Mr. Farley:
I would like to take this opportunity to formally announce by resignation of my employment at the Twn of White Springs as Fire Chief.  The reason for the resignation is personal and financial, as the City of White Springs government has ignored this department and its employees for far too long.  The City’s goals for the White Springs Fire Department are not compatible with my goals for our department.  My salary as Fire Chief will benefit the City more than it does me.
Let it be known that I have enjoyed my time with my fellow volunteers and value their friendship and professionalism forever.  For payroll purposes, my last day of work will be 8/5/13,
Thank you for your attention to this matter and I apologize for any inconvenience this departure may cause my fellow firefighters and first responders.

Ms. Tebo,
After careful thought and consideration, I have concluded that my core values are not aligned with the dysfunctional organizational culture at the Town of White Springs.  It is time to move on to maintain my overall happiness.  This letter is to officially inform you that I resign from my position as Fire Chief, effective immediately.
Originally, I believed the biggest challenge of this position would stem from lack of resources and finances.  However, since your tenure, I quickly realized that inflated egos, office politics and administrative incompetence would prove to be the biggest obstacle.  These dynamics are not conducive to successful operations and growth.
Due to ambiguous policies and procedures and the inconsistent application and enforcenent of both, I was deprived of fair and equitable treatment.  Although I expressed the need for more communication, the lack of professional, verbal and written communication has continued.  This problem was also brought to your attention by others, but you chose to ignore the issue.  This has resulted in personal conflict and demoralization of staff.
Fortunately for me, I know my worth and I am very well aware of the value I bring to a team.  I refuse to settle for any form of disrespect or maltreatment, particularly from individuals whose only credibility resides in their job title as opposed to demonstrated excellence and leadership.
My goal was to expand the White Springs Volunteer Fire Department.  During my time as Fire Chief, our department hads secured grants for a new fire truck, a six-wheel all terrain vehicle, an enclosed trailer and a new fire station.  Unfortunately it has become abundantly clear to me that I would be out of integrity to attempt to attract volunteers to such a dysfunctional work place.  The White Springs Volunteer Fre Department shall not be under your direction and control.
My fire equipment and keys will be returned to the fire station.
Steven R. Stith

So what happened after Pittman and the Brotherhood were forced to resign:
January 21, 2018
Dear Ms. Tebo:
I am writing to you regarding the open position for White Springs Fire Chief.  I feel the position will involve many of the same responsibilities that I am currently performing.  My present position requires the management of approximately 100 peopple, 15 ambulance units and 5 commanders.
I believe that you will agree that my qualifications highlighted in the enclosed resume amply demonstrate the extensive firefighter/paramedic knowledge, skills and management experience that can contribute to your fire department.  Throughout my career, I have attended numerous courses to expand my knowledge base including S130 and S190 Forestry certification and all National incident Manage System classes…….

Isn’t it amazing, he does not have the education which Chief Pittman had and after making such a big deal about Pittman not having renewed his instructors license, where is this required and Stith sure doesn’t have one nor does Stith have a Firefighter I or II Certificate.
You were only there with Rhett’s orders to protect wittle Andrew Greene so I think it is time that you realize you have not been the best of the best for White Springs, we now don’t have a Fire Department and technically the only great chief we have had has been Pittman.  You need to resign and tell Rhett the facts.
Stacy Tebo doesn’t know a damned thing about Fire Departments and she should have kept her nose out of Kevin Pittman’s business and so should have Rhett because all Rhett is doing is destroying White Springs.
