Things are not that bad at town hall. We have the situations well in hand and we’ve got plenty of money. We know that because of the lack of speed the town is using to clean up what here to before was described as a terrible mess and that we were about to go bankrupt. Obviously the manner in which they are using to clean up the mess suggests otherwise. No hurry to clean up the illegal activities (according to Helen) since nothing is illegal.
Sure Stacy was a terrible recordkeeper. But its nothing that the town can’t handle or need to do anything about. Sure Pam is a terrible bookkeeper but now that we’ve spent more money to hire another consultant (Mr. Whitehead) to tell us what we already know, or at least thought we knew from Helen’s description. We must be floating in cash.
No Stacy and Pam must have been good at their jobs because the town is not showing any of the signs that we were promised when Stacy left. We hired a Consultant Tommie (expert) who doesn’t know anything about anything but computers. And then we go and hire a new computer telephone expert at more money being spent. Wasn’t that what Tommie was to do for us? Oh yes, we’re saving money by hiring him.
Oh yes, I forgot. We’re hiring a Town administrator for three weeks at a grand a week. More proof that we, as a town are swimming in money. We could get someone more qualified than her (assuming it is a her) by using local assets. But NO we must protect the staff and council from anything bad coming out about our operations procedures.
At this rate our problems won’t be solved for a couple of years. We’ve got to hire a new CPA but the town committee can’t agree on a person to f ill the billet. But that is alright because we don’t really need a CPA, our audit isn’t due for another four months and we are in great shape according to the town administration.
We’re trying to spend our way out of financial (according to Helen) disaster. I guess we have plenty of money and we were lied to by Mr. Whitehead and the state laws. We’ve got lots of money if we just spend the Loft funds on non-Loft projects.
NO THE TOWN Administrators must think we’re in good shape because they aren’t being forthcoming about how bad of shape Helen said we were in. And the town isn’t using all, repeat hardly any, of the assets it has to solve the problems. WHAT PROBLEMS YOU ASK? We don’t have any because if we did there would be more of an urgency to protect what we have left, The only think I can think of is that Stacy and Pam did a bang-up job with some minor course corrections needed. And those we can take care of by just spending more money.
Helen and Walter need to take control of the town and say to hell with the Charter. Our new Town Consultant (Tommie) is either incompetent or just plain dumb if he can’t figure out Stacy and Pam’s record keeping system. They must have been great employees because there is apparently no hurry to fix anything.
